If we commit to anything in life, O God, we limit our choices.
If we commit ourselves to a job, we add the constraint of having to go to work.
If we commit ourselves to marriage, we add the constraint of having a spouse.
O God, if we commit even to living, we add the constraints that our fragile bodies have, of arthritis, baldness, or bad hair days.
As we commit ourselves to You, help us to see the constraints that we add---not as chains---but as steps to the perfect freedom that only You can offer.
