O Lord, disabuse us of the idea that our goal in life is to get as much as
possible out of life.
Teach us that on our deathbeds, we are not to measure our lives
by the number of wonderful places we've visited, by the awards we've received,
by the number of people who have loved us.
Instead, have us count the grudges we didn't carry because we love You.
Have us count the loving things that we have done without publicity.
Have us count the days we have begun and ended walking a stony path in
Your name.
