We are so grateful, O God, that You didn't place the first Christmas in the
year 2067.
If our calendars read 60 BC, our choir Christmas cantata wouldn't make
much sense, and all our house decorating and our holiday shopping would
simply be a part of the secular Saturnalia that most of Reno participates
in.
O Holy Child, we celebrate Your life among us.

[Saturnalia = ancient Roman festival celebrated in
December with unrestrained revelry] |
Amen. |
