We need to be washed, O God, and You are the one who can do it.

Beyond the showers or baths that we take to clean our bodies, we ask that You cleanse our minds, so that we might not be mired in the dirt and dust of mean or negative thoughts.

We ask that You wash our hearts, to make them a holy abode for Your Spirit.

We ask that You wash our faces---that they might reflect the joy that is the birthright of all of Your children.
